Russ Hollenbeck Elevated to Managing Partner of Wright Close Barger & Guzman

Houston trial and appellate firm’s leader Tom Wright returns to full-time practice of law.

The Houston-based civil appellate and trial law firm Wright Close Barger & Guzman, LLP, has elected Russ Hollenbeck as managing partner, effective immediately.

Board certified in civil appellate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Mr. Hollenbeck is among the most respected and honored appellate attorneys in Texas. He succeeds Tom Wright, who has served as managing partner since the firm’s founding in 2002.

“I have watched Russ grow into this leadership role, making my decision to step aside to focus on my clients a very easy one,” said Mr. Wright, who will return to a full-time practice schedule.

The announcement highlights a watershed year in which the firm elevated former Texas Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman to name partner, hired its first chief operating officer in John Meredith, and is preparing for a move to the iconic TC Energy Center in downtown Houston in 2026.
