Wright Close & Barger Lawyers Named to 2020 Texas Rising Stars

HOUSTON – Wright Close & Barger LLP is pleased to announce that four of its lawyers have been selected to the 2020 list of Texas Rising Stars, an exclusive listing of the top young lawyers in the state.

Firm partners Brian Cathey, Bradley Snead and Natasha Taylor are recognized for their appellate work, and firm partner Elizabeth Rivers for her work in insurance coverage. This marks the first year Mr. Cathey and Ms. Rivers have been named to the Rising Stars list.

As an appellate attorney, Mr. Cathey has handled cases for clients in the petroleum, transportation, insurance and construction industries. After earning his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School, he served as a briefing attorney for Justice John Devine at the Supreme Court of Texas and as a law clerk for Judge Carolyn Dineen King at the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ms. Rivers focuses her practice on insurance coverage matters. Her work commonly involves evaluation of commercial general liability, business auto insurance, directors’ and officers’ liability, control of well insurance, employer’s liability and a variety of surplus lines policies. After earning her law degree from Washington University School of Law, she served as a law clerk at the Texas 1st Court of Appeals in Houston.

Mr. Snead is a board-certified appellate lawyer who specializes in Texas civil appeals. Along with his appellate work, he handles large commercial, personal injury, and construction litigation. He earned his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. This is the fifth year he has been named to the Rising Stars list.

Also in her fifth year on the list, Ms. Taylor has handled appeals in courts across Texas, including the Texas Supreme Court and the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Her expertise includes matters involving insurance coverage, extra-contractual litigation, and a variety of civil litigation. After earning her law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law, she served as a law clerk for Justice Jeff Brown at the Texas14th Court of Appeals.
