Firm also in top tier for Houston appellate, commercial litigation, personal injury defense
HOUSTON – The appellate and civil litigation firm Wright & Close has earned recognition among the best law firms in the U.S. for its appellate work, placing it in the 2018 national legal guide published by U.S. News & World Report and The Best Lawyers in America.
The firm’s noteworthy appellate practice produced a national Tier 1 ranking in the widely respected peer-review guide to law firms. The firm also ranked in the top tier of Houston firms for commercial litigation and personal injury defense work, in addition to its appellate work.
“We’re especially pleased to make the Best Law Firms list because it recognizes the work of all the lawyers at the firm,” said Mr. Wright. “And earning Tier 1 rankings at both the national and regional levels is a particular honor considering the challenging competition.”
Earlier this year, seven of the firm’s lawyers were recognized in the 2018 edition of The Best Lawyers in America. Selected were co-founders Thomas C. Wright and Howard L. Close along with partners Jessica Zavadil Barger, Russell Hollenbeck, Wanda McKee Fowler and Randall Owens, and of counsel Justin Campbell III.
The annual Best Law Firms guide is based on client and lawyer evaluations, peer review from lawyers in the same practice areas and additional review by the publication. Clients are asked to rank firms based on expertise, responsiveness and understanding of the client’s business, among other factors.
