Jake’s civil litigation practice is based on his extensive experience handling insurance coverage disputes, commercial, construction, and maritime cases, and personal injury defense. Jake completed his undergraduate degree in political science at the University of Tennessee before returning to his home state of Texas to obtain his juris doctorate at South Texas College of Law. While at South Texas, Jake interned for Chief Justice Adele Hedges of the Fourteenth Court of Appeals, served as Vice President of the South Texas College of Law Chapter of the Federalist Society, and gained certification as a Third Party Mediator from the Frank Evans Center for Conflict Resolution.

Before joining Wright Close & Barger, Jake was an associate at Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr & Smith.
