Daniela’s practice focuses on civil appeals and complex litigation. Her diverse experience encompasses business restructuring and insolvency proceedings with a focus on complex chapter 11 filings, as well as handling international arbitration matters concerning cross-border disputes in Latin American jurisdictions. At Wright Close & Barger, Daniela’s comprehensive approach and analytical skills enable her to navigate intricate cases effectively, providing clients with strategic solutions tailored to their unique legal challenges.
Before joining our firm, Daniela clerked for the Hon. Marvin Isgur of the United States Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of Texas. During her clerkship, she conducted in-depth legal research and prepared dozens of legal memoranda on various complex commercial issues presented to that court. Daniela was also chiefly involved in organizing “Roadways to the Federal Bench: Who, Me? A Bankruptcy Judge?,” a first-of-its-kind conference aimed at inspiring law students and younger attorneys of color to apply for federal judgeships by connecting and engaging with federal judges at all levels through roundtable discussions.
A summa cum laude graduate of St. Mary’s University School of Law, Daniela ranked in the top 1% of her class. She served as editor-in-chief of the St. Mary’s Law Journal, where she published work on non-citizen rights and procedural due process.
Fluent in Spanish, Daniela is actively involved in the legal community, including the American Bar Association. Her passion and dedication for her community earned her the Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year award in 2023. As a founding member of Houston Women in Business for Good, Daniela continues her commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion within the legal profession.
