Kevin’s practice focuses on civil appeals in tort and commercial-litigation cases in both Texas and New Mexico. Specifically, Kevin brings a wealth of knowledge regarding the legal issues impacting insurance coverage and risk management. His practice includes preparing original proceedings, interlocutory appeals, and post-judgment motions and appeals. Kevin also routinely serves as appellate counsel in the weeks leading up to trial, as well as during trials, assisting with dispositive motions, pre-trial motions, jury selection, trial briefing, trial advocacy, and jury charges.
Kevin joined Wright Close & Barger after serving as a staff attorney with the Eighth Court of Appeals of Texas, where he worked extensively on cases involving tort claims, as well as oil-and-gas-related disputes. Prior to his time at the Court of Appeals, Kevin worked on catastrophic-injury cases, mostly arising from trucking and oil-field accidents in West Texas and New Mexico.
Kevin is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Outside the office, he is a volunteer moot-court coach, enjoys spending time with his wife and their young son, and is an avid Astros and Rockets fan.
